The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a modern nation with a very old past dating back to Biblical times.

The Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan is a modern nation with a very old past dating back to Biblical times. Already in the Old Testament Mt Nebo is mentioned as the place where Moses died. The country is small, but the contrasts amazing … ranging form the desert canyons of the Wadi Rum to the green fertile land along the Jordan River, the beauty of an ancient city like Petra and the modern life style in Amman. Experience the salty waters of the Dead Sea, stand in awe admiring the intricate mosaics of Madaba and visit the well preserve Roman City of Jerash.

From Jordan it is possible to visit the Biblical sites of Israel. When in Israel you should use the word “old” cautiously as the age of some of the sites is counted in millennia. We visit the birthplace of Jesus in Bethlehem, the Sea of Galilee often referred to in the New Testament, walk along the Stations of the Cross … Via Dolorosa and many more spiritual site, hear the tragic story of Masada and enjoy the culture and colourful markets.

These are captivating experiences not to be missed.

The Kaokoland is one of the last remaining wilderness areas … a barren inaccessible region with lots of mystique, scenic beauty and the nomadic Himba culture. The latter still live according to ancient traditions. The Kaokoland is also the home of the famous desert elephant, lion and giraffe that have adapted through time to survive in these conditions. The northern section of this region borders the Cunene River, the natural boundary between Namibia and Angola. Awesome scenes of beautiful waterfalls, palm trees, rugged mountains and dune landscapes are to be found along this river belt.

Due to Madagascar’s isolation many of the country’s stories are not documented. This fourth biggest island of the world is the “Galapagos of the African Continent” – it holds a rich mixture of 18 cultures, an astounding variety of landscapes and amazing fauna and flora. It is one of the best water sport destinations with untouched beaches, blue sparkling water, colourful coral reefs and small-personalised resorts. If you only want to enjoy the beach and sun or rather wants to fish, dive, surf or sail Madagascar is the place to visit.

The fauna on the island differ from that of Africa. The worlds biggest butterfly are found on the island, frogs with striking colours, two-thirds of known chameleon species are found on the island, tortoises and a variety of bird species. You are bound to bump into a lemur with various species scattered across the island in numerous nature parks. They are remarkable and differ in colour and size.

Madagascar has many more treasures and is an affordable destination … explore the island in the sun.

Destination: Ethiopia
Tour: The Mystery and Splendour of the Historical Route
Date: 12 – 23 October 2010

Ethiopia is a country with an intriguing and old, very old history. The people are extremely religious and the country operates on a totally different time and calendar than the rest of the world. Amharic is the official language. It is an ancient language officially used throughout medieval times to date. The historical sites are mesmerising. When you stand in awe looking down onto one of the rock-hewn churches it is difficult to imagine man created it – the fable that angels assisted with the work becomes not so far fetched.

The countryside is postcard beautiful … green hills, rocky outcrops, lakes, high mountains, the origin of the Blue Nile at Lake Tana and picturesque vistas. The town markets are colourful and a hive of activity with friendly locals eager to sell their goods. Even the children are eager to enter into conversation with visitors.

Like many things in Ethiopia the cuisine is also unique and different. Njera, a sponge like pancake made from teff flour is found on every menu. Learn how to eat njera
and tibs by only using your right hand. Coffee had its origin in Ethiopia … attending a coffee ceremony is a relaxing, colourful and interesting experience.

Ethiopia is not an ordinary tourist destination – leave the ordinary and experience the extraordinary of this exceptional country.

Experience the wide-open plains of Africa in the Serengeti and discover the eco-system of this African Eden. Marvel at the annual migration of more than one million wildebeest and zebra as they stream across the Serengeti plains – an unbelievable sight. This tour offers a self-drive option in a hired four-wheel drive vehicle or one that is driver-guide accompanied.

The itinerary follows in the footsteps of Livingstone and the Leaky’s, details colonial influences and meets the proud Masai and, dependent on the time of year, also includes a glimpse of the annual migration.

Highlights of the tour include visits to the Ngorongoro Crater – home to about 30 000 animals, the Serengeti National Park that covers an area of about 30 000 km’s, cultural experiences and, time permitting, canoeing on Lake Victoria.

Some days can also be spent on the island of Zanzibar where you visit Stone Town, enjoy a dhow cruise and spend some time relaxing at a coastal resort.

The tour commences on arrival in Arusha and ends at the airport on departure from Zanzibar. You can join a scheduled group tour or allow us to tailor make a programme for you.

The Cederberg Wilderness Area is a spectacular mountainscape covering an area of 71 000 ha. Erosion sculptured the sandstone rock into fascinating formations and these mountains also guard magnificent examples of San Rock paintings. Also hidden away are old mission stations, which at first glance look frozen in time. Between August and September the area is transformed into a vibrantly colourful carpet of flowers that turns the landscape into a spectacular painting. This is also the only area in the world where the famous rooibos tea is produced. The tour duration is 4-days/3-nights.

Destination: Ethiopia
Tour: Fables and Facts of the Omo Valley and Historical Route
Date: 05 – 23 October 2010

Learn how to eat njera
and tibs by using your right hand. Coffee had its origin in Ethiopia … attending a coffee ceremony is a relaxing, colourful and interesting experience.

Ethiopia is not an ordinary tourist destination – leave the ordinary and experience the extraordinary of this exceptional country.
