Itinerary

Day 1: Johannesburg to Tana
Depart from Johannesburg to Tana. Upon arrival check-in for your connecting flight to Nosy Be. Met upon arrival at Nosy Be by a Sakatia Towers representative for transfer to accommodation. Check-in at Sakatia Towers.

Day 2: Sakatia Towers
Sakatia Towers is the only guesthouse on Nosy Sakatia, which is only 1 km from Nosy Be. It offers a private beach, boardwalk and a variety of activities. Enjoy leisurely days on the beach or partake in some of the optional activities:

* Beach picnic lunch
* Trip to Nosy Tannakelly and Nosy Kombia including lunch and transfers
* Full day trip of Nosy Be
* Half day quad biking
* Half day snorkelling around Sakatia plus lunch

Day 3: Sailing on board Adiva
Early departure on board the Adiva from Sakatia Island for the Mitsio Archipelago, a collection of small islands spreading over 70 km. It shelters a remarkable geological formation composed of organ pipe shaped basaltic rocks, which plummet directly into the Mozambique canal. The Mitsio’s are particularly rewarding for tropical fish lovers and attracts divers from all over the world. On route, stop over for lunch at Nosy Fanihy (The lost island) a little uninhibited island with a long beach formed by broken corals. This is a great place for snorkelling. You will spend the evening on board your yacht in a secluded bay where our chef will spoil you with our cuisine.

Day 4: Sailing on board Adiva
Spend the day exploring the Mitsio’s. Relax on the beautiful beach of Nosy Ankarea, a real “Robinson Crusoe” hideaway, snorkel, play some beach games, etc. sail around the organ pipes past the beautiful ‘four Brothers’ to Tsarabanjina, a beautiful beach resort with pristine white beaches and crystal clear turquoise water, for overnight anchorage. These waters are famous for their abundant fish species where the keen fisherman can try his luck and make his contribution to the ‘Pot’ enjoy a barbeque this evening on board while you watch another beautiful sun set.

Day 5: Sailing on board Adiva
Set sail to Nosy Komba, known as the Lemur Island, fishing en route, for overnight anchorage. Most of the day is spent sailing the winds, sun bathing and relaxing on deck. On Nosy Komba you will find a small lemur sanctuary with brown and black lemurs. Situated on the island is the village of Ampangorinana, a simple little village with the residents selling lovely handcrafts. For the more adventurous, take a hike up the mountain and discover a former French sanatorium while the others can shop around and enjoy the local culture.

Day 6: Sailing on board Adiva
After breakfast, set sail for Russian Bay. On route, stop over for lunch at Nosy Tanikely, a marine reserve offering world-class snorkelling and diving. You may see turtles in the natural aquarium and a colony of lemurs watching you from the deserted lighthouse.
Russian Bay lies at the foot of a set of mountains which serves as a safe haven to local yachts during cyclone season as it did many years ago to the Russian soldiers, hence the name ‘Russian Bay’.

Day 7: Return to Sakatia
After breakfast and perhaps exploring the Old Russian Fort, set sail for Sakatia, where on route you can have your last try at a bit of fishing or just lie back and enjoy the sail.

Day 8: Depart
Check-out and transfer to Nosy Be Airport
Check-in for flight to Tana. In Tana connect with return flight to Johannesburg.
